Join us on Thursday 8th March to celebrate International Women’s Day in partnership with the Law Society. The second part of the celebrations includes a panel debate and networking drinks reception. The international women’s day event will start with a marketplace during which delegates will be able to have conversations with representatives from the Law Society’s Women Lawyers and Ethnic Minority Lawyers Divisions, LawCare, the Association of Women Solicitors (London), the Women Returners Network, the InterLaw Diversity Forum, as well as our Women’s Staff Network and Social Mobility Ambassadors.

Confirmed speakers for panel debate:
Christina Blacklaws, vice president, Law Society. Christina will focus on her Presidential Year programme of work on Women in Leadership as well as presenting the results from Women in the Law Survey, highlighting key findings on issues like gender pay gap, flexible working, career progression and work culture.
Sue Millar, commercial litigation partner, Stephenson Harwood. Sue was named ‘Woman Lawyer of the Year’ at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2017 and will focus on her story to inspire others to be part of the change they want to see.
Joy A. Douglas, director and principal, Hillary Cooper Law. Joy will share her experience working to raise awareness of the issues BAME women face in the profession and highlight the role that initiatives like Sisters in Law can play to press for change.
Jay Bhyani, specialist employment law solicitor, Bhayani HR & Employment Law. Jay will focus on her role as member of the WLD Committee and share her expertise on key issues that affect women in the workplace including sexual harassment.
